Penile Plethysmography (PPG)
Penile plethysmography (PPG) or phallometry is measurement of bloodflow to the penis, typically used as a proxy for measurement of sexual arousal. Penile plethysmography involves the measurement of the circumference of the penis with a mercury strain gauge.
In the phallometric assessment, the subject is seated privately in a comfortable chair where they are presented with visual and auditory stimuli. We are measuring sexual arousal to both appropriate (age appropriate and consenting) and deviant sexual stimulus material.
This type of testing is most often used in conjunction with a psychosexual assessment conducted by a licensed forensic psychologist.
Upon suspicion or request, all of our assessments are followed up by an EyeDetect test to determine if the examinee engaged in any countermeasure attempts during the examination.
